Blood2Power Project Excels at the S3E Start Program
The Blood2Power project has reached a significant milestone by successfully participating and excelling in the South3E – S3E Start Program.
South3E – S3E is dedicated to enhancing the market readiness and effectiveness of research teams, startups, and SMEs developing transformative DeepTech solutions for societal and economic impact. The program supports projects that drive social development and economic growth toward a more sustainable future.
The Blood2Power team had the honor of pitching at the program’s Open Day on 18 June, held at the iconic Tivoli Theatre in Lisbon. In just seven minutes, the team showcased its pioneering technology—a revolutionary power-generating system that converts kinetic energy from the body into electrical energy to power medical devices. The presentation was enthusiastically received, underscoring the importance of Blood2Power’s mission to advance sustainable energy solutions for healthcare.
“Our technology could redefine how medical devices are powered, using the body’s natural movements as a renewable energy source”, said Inês Gonçalves, project coordinator for Blood2Power.
Throughout this intensive 18-week program, the team gained invaluable insights and guidance in technology transfer, market strategy, effective pitching, and business proposal development. Special thanks go to the S3E organizers and advisers—Cristina Simões, Cláudia Barbosa, Cátia Oliveira, Pedro Vilarinho, and Roger Debo—and to our mentor João Maia for their dedicated support and strategic guidance.
With the successful completion of the program, Blood2Power is well-positioned to continue pushing the boundaries of medical technology, advancing its mission to create intelligent, energy-efficient medical devices and building momentum as a leader in sustainable healthcare innovation.
